1. Does my mobile phone need Internet and SMS service to change ringtone?
No. You just need Infrared, Bluetooth or data cable to upload the ready made ringtone into your mobile phone.
2. My computer is not able to access Internet, can I still produce ringtone with this software?
Yes. With this software, you don't need Internet access to produce ringtone.
3. Does the software expose personal privacy, such as my phone number and network operator?
No. The software will never collect any personal information such as phone number, phone model, network operator and your Email address, so it doesn't expose any personal privacy.
4. I installed firewall in my computer, will it prevent the software from running normally?
No. The software doesn't need any Internet access right, and will not send any message to the server, so the firewall will not affect the use of the software.
5. Why can't I open .rmvb and .mov files, are these files able to be converted into ringtone?
Sure. You can't open the files, because you don't have .rmvb and .mov related decoding component installed on your computer. You can use RealOne Player and Quick Time Player to play these files, and then click "Wave" button on main dialog box to convert your favorite part to ringtone by recording from sound card.
6. Why can't I drag-select the part to be converted with mouse in waveform?
The software use another more accurate way to select part. Directly drag-select the part to be converted with mouse on waveform looks simple, but not accurate enough. For a 5 minutes MP3 file, use drag-select the part with mouse on the waveform will cause over 5 seconds time error, possibly lead to "broken sentence" at the beginning and the end of the ringtone, ruining the final quality. The software is provided with 12 buttons , enables you to accurately select start and end point with less than 50ms, and preview the selected part immediately. So it has better accuracy and efficiency over drag-select with mouse, and can produce ringtone with best quality.
7. Why the "Convert" button is sometimes disabled and I can't make conversion?
When you open a file, the software will make format conversion at background. The Convert button will be valid after the format conversion complete. Then you can begin to convert ringtone.
8. Why the volume of the ringtone is too low or too high, some of them are with cracked sound?
You didn't adjust to the right volume before starting the conversion. Please preview the ringtone, and adjust play and record volume before start the conversion. If you are converting ringtone from media file, adjusting record volume will only affect the display of the waveform, and will not change the actual volume of the ringtone. Check "Normalize" button on "Options" dialog box to maximize the ringtone volume.
9. What hardwares are required for uploading the ringtone into my mobile phone?
All new model mobile phones support Infrared and/or Bluetooth and/or data cable.
If your mobile phone supports data cable, you can buy a appropriate data cable, install the driver, and then upload the ringtone into your mobile phone.
If your mobile phone supports Bluetooth, plug a Bluetooth adapter into USB port of your PC, open Bluetooth receiving function on your mobile phone, and then input same safety code on your PC and mobile phone to match. When matching complete, use the phone management software to upload the ringtone into your mobile phone through Bluetooth.
If your mobile phone supports Infrared, you can plug Infrared adapter into USB port of your laptop or PC. Turn on the Infrared function of your mobile phone, align the Infrared window of the phone with the Infrared window of your laptop or the adapter and keep the distance between 10~30cm. When your computer prompts Infrared device is found, you can upload the ringtone into your mobile phone directly without using any other software.
10. Is any other software required for uploading the ringtone into my mobile phone?
When using Infrared communication, you can directly send the ringtone file to your mobile phone without using other software. If your mobile phone is using data cable with USB connection and worked as portable mass storage when connected, you can directly copy the ringtone files to your mobile phone from "My Computer". If your mobile phone doesn't support USB portable mass storage, or you are using Bluetooth communication, you need Management Software to upload the ringtone into your mobile phone. Currently all new models come with Management Software, check the CD shipped with your mobile phone to find it. You can also download the software from their website.
11. How to translate and install new language?
Open the installation directory (default to "C:\Program Files\Kylix Ringtone Maker") in "My Computer", make one copy of English.lag, and rename the new file title into another language name, for example, French.lag. Open the file using "Notepad", translate all content following "=" from English to French, and save the file. Click "Options" button to open Options dialog box, select French under language option, and now you can see French for all information on the interface. Help file can also be translated into new language, all you need to do is to change "IDS_HELPFILE=HelpEng\index.htm" into "IDS_HELPFILE=HelpFre\index.htm" in French.lag, and create and translate a new index.htm based on HelpEng\index.htm. Now you can see the French help.
12. Once I get the software, do I need to pay extra fees when changing new ringtones?
No any other fee will be charged. Once you get the software, you can make unlimited ringtones, and upload them into your mobile phone through Infrared, Bluetooth or data cable. It will not incur any SMS, GPRS or Internet service fee.
13. I don't have credit card, how do I purchase this software?
We support several methods of payment, credit card, TT, check and Paypal.
